‘Medical condition’ ends ‘Zona RB Pierre Cormier’s football career

It was reported late this past week that Arizona would be losing Garic Wharton, a wide receiver who had the potential to add to his production the past two seasons, to transfer.  Unfortunately, another player with production potential won’t be at the Wildcats’ disposal either, albeit for entirely different reasons.

In a post made to his Facebook page, UA running back Pierre Cormier revealed that he is stepping away from the game of football.  An unspecified health issue is the culprit.

From Cormier’s post, by way of the Arizona Daily Star:

“Football has always meant the world to me.. Due to a medical condition I’ve been told I can never play again.. This last week and a half has been the hardest ever for me…”

What the medical condition Cormier’s dealing with is unknown, as is whether it’s football-related. For what it’s worth, UA has yet to address…
